Amici

There may be something cliche about photos of older people in Italy anymore (meaning it's a pretty common subject), but there's something to be said about the beauty of of an everyday routine performed in friendship. These two girls were doing their evening people watching.

No no no no no no! So, by this logic, because Ansel Adams did it, no more photos of Yosemite? People take photos of old folks (wherever) because they can be beautiful and they demonstrate something about the human condition.

(Nice picture.)

I wonder if perhaps they could be sisters. There is a certain resemblance, even in their clothing and shoes. Young and old people have much more character than those middle-aged ones! (Should I even say that since I am no longer on the long end of the spectrum?)

Apart from the fact that such photos are a common sight on the internet nowadays, you captured this scene much more beautifully than most others - love the light on the old stone wall, and the shadows. Also, the colours of their clothes fit very well.

Love this very nice picture, done the shoppings together and enjoying the sun in almost the same cardigans. They must be friends for ever.

The pace of life still seems very civilised in much of Italy and more sociable.

Sweet ... charming ... friendship ... character ... shared life experiences, both good and bad ---- those are the words that come to mind.

Nice picture. Its nice to know that growing old also means people watching people with best friends.

People who need people are the luckiest people in the world - I think that's how the song goes...this is an excellent example of the "rightness" of just being close to another human ...

Ah...by the way, they don't look so "old" to me! :-)

Patty and I like to go to indoor shopping malls and find a comfortable seat and watch the people go by. These ladies have been around for a while but were probably new babies at the end of world war two.

I like the photo with the layout. It looks good.

Oh there's nothing cliche about this T it's special indeed. The stories those two could tell I bet!! I love the sight of them sitting in the sun, watching and probably nattering about the people passing! Wonderful shot.

Being together is enough. You do not have it look and said nothing. just go with it. Great message, a greeting.

The picture is brilliant, certainly not just cliche! Apart from the women, I like everything else as well...the bench, the beautifully textured wall, the light...terrific capture :)

Yes, I remember that being the case. In evenings, people came out to watch other people. The light here is quite nice.
