Keyhole

An old keyhole in Lucca.  These are actually still in use; I was given one of those old fashioned type keys to get into my hotel while staying in Lucca.
And yes, still pulling from my archives.  Believe it or not, I came down with my illness all over again.  Seems the antibiotics didn't work the first time.

That's a bummer. Being sick is no fun at all but doing it all over again, that's sick! Take care of yourself. This is the worst time of the year (for sick stuff, not all the other stuff) so hang in there. I miss your pictures.

It's hard to imagine that this thing works! It's a wonderful macro!

Perhaps you got the wrong antibiotic the first go-round? Not much fun getting sick again, though. Hope you will be completely healthy soon!

Love the textures in this picture :D
Can't believe that's actually still in use, it looks like it hasn't been touched for years!

A great pic. When I was a child our Home had a keyhole like this. The key was called a skeleton key. If you chose to lock your door at night the key was turned sideways in the lock from inside the house, a key could not be placed in the lock from outside the house. Simple but it worked!

Take care of yourself and take time to heal thyself!

I want to see you shooting back in AZ. Nevertheless, this is terrific. Wonderful texture, color and composition. Are there cobwebs in the keyhole?

Absolutely great! Hoping you will feel better soon!

Well this is not good news T, that seems to happen a lot these days, just when you think you're on the mend WHAM!! it gets you again! I can't imagine why this image has been in your archives, it's too intriguing to be 'locked' away. I think Bob may be right it does look like a cobweb in there. When Aimee and I stayed in Rome, our hotel had an enormous old key, fascinating.

So sorry you are unwell. It can be disheartening to re-succumb to an infection which one thought was shaken off.

I've been wondering about your images - to what extent they express your style and to what degree your style is a reflection of what is to hand. Would we be able to pick out your pictures in an exhibition made along with other photographers from your area? Maybe not . . . but probably we would.

Doesn't sound good to be ill again. Here many people are ill with stomach problems. At least you have a great archive of photo's, so we still can enjoy your pictures. Hope you will be recovered soon again.

Great macro. Its strange that in the Italy the outside of the buildings mostly are neglected while the inside almost always are palaces. Hope you are getting well soon and are able to shoot again.

So sorry to hear you were sick again. Hope it's all gone by now. When I went to Portmeirion in Wales, the hotel I stayed at also used this type of key. I was so fond of it that I photographed it and it is now on the back cover of the picture book I made of the trip to Portmeirion.

I am going to Italy in May of next year. A good friend of mine has a nephew who was just transferred there for work and will be there for about 2 years. He is in Treviso very near Venice. We will be staying with him and touring around the country. I'm very excited.
