Feet #1: Brandon, Ethan, Reece

I'm going to begin a series on feet, or rather feet in shoes.  I think people's choice of shoes can say quite a bit about their character.  And then there's something gratifying about seeing a part of a person where you create first impressions and then seeing the entire person where you may change these impressions (face photos to come later).  I'm still in the developing stage of this, and not to sound whiny, but I can't take anymore deadlines so this will be a series that develops as I go.  In other words, it will evolve as time goes on and there will be my regular photos intermixed.
In this photo, these boys were playing miniture golf, and this moment of stillness (not an easy feat - ha ha!) was the calmest there was!

Very interesting and I like your ideas. I think you may have something thinking about the feet and character.

You may enjoy my poem along those lines which can be accessed here:

Interesting concept for a series. I'm not sure what my shoes say about me, I prefer sneakers or boots. How about confuzzled?

I like the idea of this project T, looking forward to some sexy high stilettos haha! As for sneakers, it always amazes me just how many different styles for one concept there can be!

I saw a photo exhibit years ago where the photographer had a hundred or so images of just that. It really was very interesting, all the feet and various types of shoes if different settings. Good luck with your project. It should be much easier for strangers to say "yes" to having their feet photographed rather than the entire person.

I think this is a great idea for a series. I only wish my feet could be included. I have a penchant for red shoes. :)

Great shot. I know that in some more expensive shops the salesmen are trained to look at the shoes of their clients to estimate their wealth. The only way to make an estimate these days they say.

This post made me chuckle. I've been attending Phoenix Sun's games with a good friend and when I'm there I can't help but notice the variety of footwear I see walking up and down the aisle. I'm always amazed by the women who choose sparkly clothes and five inch heels to go to a ball game. Last night, there were everything from strapless tops and spiky heels to Ugh boots. What a variety.

My father was in the Air Force and once met an enlistee with dirty shoes. He never really liked the man because he said "You can tell a man by his shoes." Over the years, I've thought of that story, and I do believe it's true. Good luck on your project.

I think that is a very interesting project. It reminds me of the movie "Crazy Stupid Love" when Ryan Gosling makes fun of Steve Carrell's New Balance 407s. (The exact brand my husband wears - ha!) It's been awhile since I have stopped by here, but I notice you have a new Lensbaby. I am insanely jealous!

Great idea - your topic says a lot about someone's personality. Our family went to France when my son was 9. His style was to buy two pairs of Converse high tops in different colors and then wear them mis-matched. The Parisians were impressed.

Yes, comfort seems to be a key in shoe choice here :^) Cool start to your series T!

Ah, miniature golf. Couldn't work out what on earth their sticks were! Didn't even realise they were boys till I read you text. Shows what you say about feet is right.

There is a lot to say about feet!
I spy the little guy in red shoes on the right!
Isn't this your son's feet?
When he went to Europe with you I commented I think on those same shoes.
I will look forward to your next post.

Ha ha, maybe I should give up taking portraits, people seem more interested in shoes.

You make great creative pictures!

Excellent idea! The first two photos are excellent. Although, I was clicking backwards and saw the cowboy boots first. I thought it should have been legs!

A good new serie would be naked feet too, without shoes.
